Install Tomate pomodoro software on Linux

This is a pomodoro tool for Linux computers. This software has an easy to use interface and a very simple setup.

Install Tomate

This Tomate software is written by Elio Esteves Duarte. You can see his launchpad for more information.

First, you need to add the Tomate repository to your computer with the command below.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stvs/tomate

Then, you type the command below to update the package and perform the Tomcate installation.

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install tomate -y

Use Tomate

After you have installed Tomate, you will see the interface as shown below.

Tomate defaults that a pomodoro is 25 minutes, a short break is 5 minutes and a long break is 15 minutes.

You can edit this time by going to the Preferences menu. The preferences window as image below.

Once you have set the time, you can click on the Play icon in the upper corner of the window. When the time of a pomodoro ends, Tomate will display the message on the computer screen accompanied by the sound for you to know.

The installation of Tomate is quite simple, a useful tool for you during the work. Time management is an issue that most people are facing in today’s technology era. People have too much to handle in the gas too little time.
