DanieBlog - Today when writing articles for my blog, I met a message “You’re linking to another page with the focus keyword you want this page to rank for. Consider changing that if you truly want this page to rank”. This warning made me find out why?

Why do “linking to another page” warnings appear?

Below is the image posted on my post.

Warning “You’re linking to another page with the focus keyword”.

As you can see, everything looks good except for the warning above. After a while searching for information, I found the answer from Yoast SEO team.

What are the causes?

Your content contains a link that includes the focus keyword.

According to Yoast’s article, I checked the content of my article. Yes, I have two more links in the article, the anchor text of the two links contains the keyword I want. Like:

And the keyword in the article that contains the two links are: script run as a service. You can see that both links contain keywords. This is why the warning appears.

Solutions for “linking to another page”

Please modify the link text so it does not contain the focus keyword or move the link to an adjacent word or phrase.

Yes, Yoast SEO team provided the answer for you. You will have to change the anchor text of the link so that it does not contain the keywords you are want.

But in my case, I can not. Because, the link I put in the article should show immediately what it means. After reading the Yoast SEO team’s reply, I decided to keep it that way.

If changing the link is not possible, the warning can be ignored as you should not be tempted to get all green bullets.

Conclusion

You see, you can ignore the warning about containing that keyword. But does my article or yours can be good seo? That should wait, time will give us results. However, I hope that the warning does not affect my website.
